ATLANTA UNITED STUDIO

CHILDREN’S HEALTHCARE OF ATLANTA TRAINING GROUND

STUDIO DESIGN, ENVIRONMENTAL NOISE CONTROL, VIBRATION DESIGN

Located at the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Training Ground in Marietta, the 20,000-square-foot Emory Healthcare Studio Building for Atlanta United FC is a two-story, state-of-the-art facility connected to the main support staff building. The program includes two primary studios—Studio 17 and Studio 5—The Box control room, podcast and editing suites, interview rooms, conference and office spaces, and a press conference room. The facility is designed to support future growth, including expansion for the women’s league.

The site sits directly within the flight path of Dobbins Air Reserve Base and near I-75, presenting significant environmental noise challenges. The acoustic design addressed these conditions through the use of floating floors, specialized wall and ceiling assemblies, and a high-performance building envelope to mitigate aircraft and traffic noise. The project was delivered under strict budget constraints and, at $23 million, was completed below the original cost target.

Working alongside RJT+R and Alpha Video, the architect and AV design teams, BWS successfully integrated the project’s acoustic requirements into a flexible, forward-looking studio environment.
